Our story
Hello, my name is Natalie and I am the founder of Akirma Luxe, an organic and natural brand that uses healthy and nourishing ingredients to create skin and hair products. My products are handcrafted and formulated with sensitive skin in mind and there is often an unscented option available for the products within the range.

Akirma Luxe is a vegan and cruelty free brand and over time we hope to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible.

A few years ago my Discoid Lupus flared up so badly that everything I put on my skin burned and caused irritation which added to the stress that my already inflamed skin was under. My hair was also very dry, brittle and breaking off.
My dermatologist suggested that I strip everything back and try using one product at a time to see what was irritating my skin but I wasn’t having much luck. That’s when I started to do some research and thought that maybe all the additives and harsh chemicals in the products were irritating my skin.
By this point I had bald patches and scarring in my scalp and my hair was falling out rapidly. There was no saving my hair so I did the big chop and I started my natural hair journey. At the same time, I started experimenting with natural oils and butters, doing patch tests on my skin to see irritant levels before mixing and blending to create different formulas for my skin and hair. Eventually I came up with a butter that worked well for my skin and hair and an oil blend that worked for my very tender, sensitive and scarred scalp.
Soon I was using these products on my husband and children who have eczema and very sensitive skin and they worked for them too! As my hair started to grow back I would often get asked what products I used and I would end up making jars of the Hair and Body Butter for friends and family and saw that it worked well for different skin and hair types. I thought to myself, if friends and family like the products that I was making then I must be doing something right so why not make and sell my products for other people to experience and enjoy. That is when Akirma Luxe was created.
The name Akirma was formed by using the first letter of the names of all of my babies 😊 K, I R & M. All of their names have an ‘A’ in them so I added an ‘A’ at either end and that formed AKIRMA!
